Solange Tuyishime is an international speaker, Social Entrepreneur and Philanthropist. Today,
Solange is the President and CEO of Elevate International, Co-Founder of Naylah’s Legacy and
a UNICEF Canada Ambassador.
As an international speaker, Solange continues to inspire leaders in social responsibility and
heart-centred leadership, while also inspiring young men and women around the world to rise
above their circumstances and take their dreams to new heights.
As the President and CEO of Elevate International, Solange has dedicated her life to elevating
women and girls through the advancement of leadership, economic growth and community
building. As a philanthropist, Solange remains committed to helping save the lives of mothers
and children locally and globally.
Solange is the current Mrs. Canada 2018, making her the first Canadian women to have won
both the Miss and Mrs. Canada titles. Solange is also the first woman of colour to win the Mrs.
Canada World and Mrs. Canada Universe titles.
As a national title-holder, Solange has won Miss Canada International, Miss Canada Galaxy
and has represented Canada internationally while winning the Miss United Nation and Ms.
Galaxy titles. As Mrs. Canada, Solange recently represented Canada on international stages of
both the Mrs. Universe and Mrs. World pageant, where she obtained top-finalist awards.



Solange is from Fredericton, N.B. She was born and raised in East Africa and at the age of 13,
escaped from war and genocide and moved to Canada. Today, Solange holds a Bachelor of
Applied Arts in Journalism and a Masters of Public Administration (from which schools).
As an active member of the community for many years, Solange volunteered with multiple
organizations and was vice-president of the African Student Union. Solange was first crowned
Miss Canada International in 2006, Miss Canada Galaxy in 2011 and Ms. Galaxy in 2013. She
was the first black woman and the first from New Brunswick to hold such titles amongst all other
pageants in Canada.
As a UNICEF Canada ambassador, Solange has been the spokesperson for National UNICEF
Day in Canada and has been actively advocating for children’s rights. She has travelled to
Jamaica, Haiti, Geneva and South Africa with UNICEF.
Solange shares her life experience with the objective to inspire and elevate the world while
continuing to encourage fundraising efforts, educating and engaging Canadians in the work of
Many leaders, communities and youth across the world have been able to learn from her
experience and message of determination, believing in one’s dream and helping those who are
less fortunate.
